Growing up as a ‘third culture kid’ in socially divided Rio de Janeiro instilled in her an intrinsic ability to inhabit different cultures and mindsets: “the simultaneous benefits of an insider’s intimate understanding alongside an outsider’s capacity to propose a different perspective”.
A current inspiration is ‘Pad Man’ Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social activist from Tamil Nadu fighting period poverty and empowering women in India.
Davina is a native bilingual speaker of Brazilian Portuguese and English and holds a Masters degree in International Relations from Durham University.
