Unilever’s purpose is
“to make sustainable living commonplace.”
They “work to create a better future every day, with brands and services that help people feel good, look good, and get more out of life.”
They have defied the notion that growth is incompatible with sustainability by pledging to double their revenue whilst reducing their environmental footprint and increasing social impact.
This latest Paul Polman-led era, however, is only made possible by the Core Purpose of their growth years:
“TO MAKE CLEANLINESS COMMONPLACE; TO LESSEN WORK FOR WOMEN; TO FOSTER HEALTH.”
Whilst tripartite in its claims it has clear societal aims for which employees and partners worked hard and with pride.
